CSN 17 102 Heat Treatments

  • Forging at 1100 to 900°C, cooling in a furnace or ash;
    Normalization annealing at 900 to 940°C, cooling in air;
    Hardening at 920 to 980°C, cooling in oil;
    Tempering at 680 to 740, 1 hour in temperature, cooling in water or air;
    Soft annealing at 740 to 780°C, cooling in furnace;
    Annealing to reduce strain at 680 to 720°C (products in condition .2 are annealed after welding at 750°C), cooling in the air or in the oven;
    Annealing at 880 to 920°C, time lag at 1.5 min/mm of thickness, cooling at max., 1°C min. to 650°C, then in air.
