GB QTANi35Si5Cr2 Heat Treatments
- Stress-relief heat-treatment procedure
The stress-relief heat-treatment procedure is as follows:
a) heating rate not greater than 150°C/h; heat to 625-650°C and hold for 2 h;
b) for each additional 25 mm of section thickness, increase the holding time by 1 h;
c) cooling rate not greater than 100°C/h; furnace-cool to 200°C, then remove from the furnace and air-cool.
High-temperature stabilization heat-treatment procedure
For workpieces intended for service at temperatures above 500°C, high-temperature stabilization heat treatment shall be carried out. The recommended high-temperature stabilization heat-treatment procedure for castings is as follows:
a) heating rate not greater than 150°C/h; heat to 955-1040°C and hold for 3-5 h;
b) for each additional 25 mm of section thickness, increase the holding time by 1 h;
c) after the specified holding time has been reached, remove from the furnace and air-cool.
