SAE 6560 Heat Treatments
- Preheat to 800°C (1472°F), hold for one minute, austenitize at 1150°C (2102°F), quench down to 38 to 49°C (100 to 120°F) or lower in air, temper three times at 560°C (1040°F) at least 1 hour at temperature each time, air cool to room temperature 25°C (77°F) between tempers.
