PROPRIETARY Thermodur E 38 K Heat Treatments
- Soft annealing: 740-780°C, cooling: furnace 7°C/hour to 649°C then air cool. Stress relieving: 649°C for 2 hours, cooling: slowly to 499°C in air. Hardening: 1000-1030°C hold at temperature for 30 minutes, cooling: vacuum quench at 10°C/min. to 538°C then cool to below 65°C.
- Soft annealing: 740-780°C, cooling: furnace. Hardening: 1000-1030°C, Quenching: oil or hot bath, 500-550°C.
