IS IS 12549 Heat Treatments

  • Heat the specimen in hydrogen atmosphere for 1 hour at 900°C followed by 15 minutes at 1100°C. Between 900 and 1100°C of the heat treatment periods, the specimen may be cooled to room temperature, if desired. Cool the specimen from 1100°C to 200°C in hydrogen atmosphere at rate not exceeding 5°C per minute.
