ASME SA-541 Grade 3V Heat Treatments
- After complete austenitization, the forgings shall be quenched in a suitable liquid medium by spraying or immersion. Quenching shall be followed by tempering at a subcritical temperature and holding at this temperature for a minimum time of 30 min/25 mm of maximum section thickness. Minimum tempering temperatures shall be 675°C (1250°F).
