SAE 6515 Heat Treatments
- Annealed by heating to a temperature within the range 816 to 927°C (1500 to 1700°F), holding at the selected temperature within ± 14°C (± 25°F) for 1 hour minimum, and cooling to room temperature in air or other atmosphere at a rate equivalent to an air cool or faster.
Heat treatment of test specimens: Maraged by heating to 510°C ± 6°C (950°F ± 10°F), holding at heat for 3 to 6 h, and cooling to room temperature.
