SAE 5932 Heat Treatments
- Heated to 1093°C to 1121°C (2000°F to 2050°F) by any convenient means, held to equalize at temperature, oil quenched to 66°C (150°F) or lower, air cooled to room temperature, cooled to -79°C (-110°F) or lower, held at that temperature for not less than 1 hour, and tempered for 2 hours ± 0.25 at 482°C to 524°C (900°F to 975°F).
