SAE 5929 Heat Treatments
- Solution heat treated by heating to 927°C ± 14°C (1700°F ± 25°F), holding at heat for 60 minutes ± 15, water quenching to 149°C (300ºF) or cooler then further cooling to 4°C (40 ºF) or colder, holding at that temperature for not less than 4 hours, and warming in air to room temperature.
(H950): Heated at 510°C ± 6°C (950°F ± 10°F), time 4 hours ± 0.3
(H1000): Heated at 538°C ± 6°C (1000°F ± 10°F), time 4 hours ± 0.3
