PROPRIETARY 100Cr6 Heat Treatments


  • Hot-forming: 1050 - 900°C. Quenching (+Q): heating up to 650°C, pause, then 800 - 830°C, water cooling. Quenching: 830-870°C, oil/ polymer salt bath 500 - 550°C, salt bath 180 - 200°C. Tempering (+T): 150 - 300°C, air cooling. Stress relief annealing (+SR): 600 - 650°C, furnace cooling. Isorhermal annealing (+I): 800°C, rapid cooling to 720°C, pause, then air cooling. Spheroidized annealing (+AC): 770 - 780°C cooling 15 - 20°C/h to 730°C pause, then 10°C/h to 600°C then 40°C/h to 300°C then air cooling. Recrystallization annealing (+RA): 750 - 760°C furnace cooling to 300°C, then air cooling. Mechanical properties at different tempering temperatures obtained after quenching at 840°C in oil.
