ASTM A 768 Grade4 Class1 Heat Treatments
- Austenitizing from 1700–1800°F (925–980°C); first tempering at a minimum 975°F (525°C); second tempering at a 950°F (510°C). The forging shall be stress-relieved at a temperature not more than 100°F (55°C) below the final tempering temperature, but not less than 1100°F (595°C).
