PROPRIETARY Sandvik Finemac Heat Treatments

  • Soft-annealing at 650-680°C (1200-1250°F) for 1h. Tempering at 100-600°C for 0.5-1h. Hardening for d ≤ 5 mm: 800-820°C for 3-6 min, quenching in oil at 50°C. Hardening for d > 5 mm: 790-810°C for 6-10 min, in water. Mechanical properties at different tempering temperatures (soaking time 4 min) are obtained after quenching at 810°C for 30 min.
