PROPRIETARY SRV4 ULTR-AD Heat Treatments
- Annealed: Gradual heating up to 860°C, holding at temperature followed by slow cooling. Take the usual precautions to avoid decarburization.
Heat treatment 1: Austenitization at 1175°C; Cooling in gas under pressure (minimum of 3 bars) or in salt bath at 500-550°C depending on the section and the geometry of the parts. Tempering: Three successive tempering of 2 hours at 520°C.
For parts requiring very high dimensional stability, a cryogenic treatment of 2 hours at -75°C can be inserted between quenching and first tempering. If the parts are complex form this treatment should be carried out between the first and the second tempering.
Heat treatment 2: Austenitization at 1075°C; Cooling in gas under pressure (minimum of 3 bars) or in salt bath at 500-550°C depending on the section and the geometry of the parts. Tempering: Three successive tempering of 2 hours at 550°C.
