PROPRIETARY 32CrB4 Heat Treatments
- Hot-forming: 1150 - 850°C. Normalizing (+N): 850 - 880°C, air cooling. Core hardenability (+CH): 860°C oil, polymer, water cooling. Tempering (+T): 520 - 650°C, air cooling. Stress-relieving (+SR): 50°C under the temperature of tempering. Soft annealing (+A): 680 - 720°C, air cooling. Isothermal annealing (+I): 840 - 880°C, furnace cooling to 690°C then air cooling. Spheroidizing (+AC): 700 - 720°C, air cooling. End quench hardenability test: 860°C, water cooling. Mechanical properties at different tempering temperautres obtained after quenching at 870°C in water. Mechanical properties values obtained on rounds after quenching at 870°C in water and tempering at 560°C.
