PROPRIETARY W M K Heat Treatments


  • Annealing at 820 - 840°C for 4 - 6h, slow furnace cooling. Stress relieving at appr. 650°C for 1 - 2h, slow cooling. Hardening at 960 - 1000°C, quenching in water or at 1000 - 1050°C, oil quenching, quenching in water should be interrupted at 300 - 400°C and continued in oil, oil quenching to be stopped in both cases at 200 - 250°C. Tempering at 560 - 700°C. Nitriding possible. Preheating before use at 200 - 300°C – absolutely necessary.
