PROPRIETARY W 44 Heat Treatments

  • Soft annealing: heat to 820 - 840°C then slow furnace cooling.
    Hardening: heat to 1000 - 1050°C. Cooling in oil/polymer, for low constant thicknesses also warm bath of approx. 540 °C. Interrupt oil or polymer cooling at 200 - 250°C or vacuum hardening.
    Tempering: 520 - 700°C.
    Nitriding is possible.
    Preheating before use at 150 - 350°C.
