PROPRIETARY M A K Heat Treatments
- Annealing at 820 - 840°C for 4 - 6h, slow furnace cooling. Stress relieving at appr. 650°C for 2 - 4h, slow cooling. Hardening 1050 - 1100°C, quenching in oil, polymer or hot bath at appr. 540°C (when oil or polymer, interrupt at appr. 230 - 280°C), or vacuum hardening. Tempering at 580 - 700°C, to increase toughness temper 2 or 3 times. Preheating before use at 250 - 350°C – absolutely necessary.
