PROPRIETARY C M 167 Heat Treatments
- Soft annealing: heat to 740 - 760°C for 4 - 6 hours, then slow furnace cooling.
Hardening: heat to 950 - 980°C. Cool in oil/polymer or warm bath of 300°C. Interrupt oil or polymer cooling at 250 - 300°C or vacuum hardening.
Tempering: 500 - 700°C.
Nitriding is possible under some conditions.
Preheating before use at 150 - 350°C is required.
