SANS CRS1 Heat Treatments
- A casting shall have been heated to a temperature in the range 950-1 050 °C and held at that temperature for a sufficient period of time for the casting to attain a uniform temperature throughout, and then rapidly cooled in air or oil, depending on the size of the casting. The casting shall then be tempered. The tempering temperature shall be at the discretion of the manufacturer.
