- Quenching and tempering to sizes up to 100 mm: Quenching: 800-950°C, cooling in oil; Tempering: 670-720°C. Quenching and tempering to sizes above 100 up to 200 mm: Quenching: 940-970°C, cooling in oil; Tempering: 600-700°C.
