ASTM A 403 CR316H Heat Treatments


  • Solution annealed at 1038°C (1900°F) minimum until the chromium carbides go into solution, and then cooling at a sufficient rate to prevent reprecipitation. Quenching media: water or other rapid cool.
    For H grades, separate solution heat treatments are required for solution annealing; in-process heat treatments are not permitted as a substitute for the separate solution annealing treatments.
