- Normalized and tempered (N+T): Austenitized at 1000-1050°C, air cooled. After cooling to less than 100°C, inter-critical heat treatment at 820-870°C with subsequent cooling in air may be appropriate. Tempered at 650-720°C, air or furnace cooled
