DIN 1.7362+NT2 Heat Treatments
- Hardening: Heated at 930-980°C, cooled in air, quenched in oil or water.
Tempering: Heated at 710-750°C, held for min. 30 minutes.
Stress relief annealing: Heated at 680-730°C (30K under the tempering temperature), held for min. 30 minutes, air cooled.
Material can be cold and hot formed. - Normalizing and tempering (+NT2): 930-980°C, air cooling; Tempering: 710-750°C, air cooling. It may be necessary in the case of wall thickness T above 10 mm or T/D > 0.15 to apply quenching and tempering in order to achieve the intended structure and material properties.
