MIL 420 Heat Treatments
- Annealing: heating 1550 to 1650°F for 6 hours, furnace cool 25 to 50°F per hour to 1100°F followed by water quenching; Austenitizing temperature: 1750 to 1850°F, medium for quenching: oil, air or polymer; Recommended subcritical anneal: 1350 to 1450°F air cool;
