SFS 1.1182 Heat Treatments
- After welding, test welds which are to be tested in the PWHT condition shall be post-weld heat treated at either 580°C ± 20°C or at another temperature to be agreed. They shall be subjected to a soaking period of either not less than 1 h per 25 mm thickness of wall thickness or 4 h, whichever is the greater. Heating and cooling rates shall be in accordance with the following:
- The rate of heating shall not exceed (5 500/T)°C/h or 55°C/h, whichever is the greater, where T is the wall thickness in mm.
- Test welds shall be cooled to a temperature of 400°C at a rate not exceeding (6 875/T)°C/h or 55°C/h, whichever is the greater.
