- Carbon-manganese steel forgings are to be:
Fully annealed or
Normalized or
Normalized and tempered at a temperature of not less than 500°C or
Quenched and tempered - Normalizing and tempering, or
Quenching and tempering
The temperature used for tempering is to be not less than 550°C.
