PROPRIETARY UGIMA 4460 Heat Treatments
- Heat treated (Type 1): Cold-finished product produced from a range of hot-rolled steels (not drawn);
Heat treated (Type 2): Small section cold-finished steel produced from a range of steel that is rolled in coil and drawn to reduce its cross-section. ≅ 10%
Forging: at between 1200°C and 900°C (best results are obtained at between 1200°C and 1100°C); rapid water or oil-cooling, to avoid the formation of embrittling phases, particularly the sigma phase at a temperature of between 900 and 600°C.
