Heat Treatments
- Hot-forming: 1100 - 850°C. Normalizing: 900°C, air. Quenching: 880 - 930°C, oil or polymer. Quenching: 870 - 920°C, water. Tempering: 550 - 650°C, air. Stress-relieving: 50°C under the temperature of tempering. Carbonitriding: 870 - 880°C, gas, tempering 150 - 200°C. Carburizing: 760 - 780°C. Core hardening: 870 - 880°C, water, immediate tempering at 150 - 200°C, air. Induction hardening: 870 - 925°C, oil or water to 150 - 200°C, then air. Nitriding: 490 - 530°C. Soft annealing: 690°C, air. Isothermal annealing: 800°C furnace cooling to 670°C, then air. Carburizing: 880 - 920°C.
