PROPRIETARY UR04 Heat Treatments
- Stress relieving: after rough-machining, heat to 600-650°C, hold at temperature for at least 2 hours, and consequently cool slowly in furnace to 550°C, then cool in stationary air; Hardening: preheat at 650-700°C, austenitization at 880- 920°C, oil quenching, blown air in thermal bath at 200-250°C. When the tool has reached the temperature of 50-80°C start tempering immediately; Tempering: slow heat to the required temperature for the desired hardness shown in the following chart. Hold at temperature for a minimum of 2 hours after reaching the internal temperature.Make at least 2 temperings.
