PROPRIETARY UK 09 Heat Treatments
- Soft annealing: heat to 820°- 870°C Hold at temperature and cool in furnace to 650°C (10°C per hour) then cool in stationary air; Stress relieving: after rough-machining, heat to 600°-650°C, hold at temperature and cool in furnace to 500°C then cool in stationary air; Hardening: preheat to 650°-680°C, austenitization at 940°-980°C, air cooling; Tempering: preheat to 180°-250°C. hold at temperature and cool in air.
