PROPRIETARY Sanmac 316L Heat Treatments
- All material shall be refined by Argon Oxygen Decarburisation or equivalent. Solution treatment shall be carried out at a temperature above 1040°C. This will be followed by immediate water quench.
- For bars and billets: Solution annealing 1040 - 1100°C at (1900 - 2010°F), rapid cooling in air or water. For hollow bars: Stress relieving at 850- 950°C (1560 - 1740°F), cooling in air. Solution annealing at 1000 - 1100°C (1830 - 2010°F), rapid cooling in air or water.
