PROPRIETARY LESCALLOY UT-18 VAC-ARC Heat Treatments
- Anneal: Heat uniformly to 816-871°C (1500-1600°F) and furnace cool.
Harden: heat to 924°C (1695°F), hold at temperature one hour and oil quench.
Temper (double temper): First temper - 577°C (1070°F) for 4 hours and oil quench in order to assure good austenite to martensite transformation; Second temper - 582°C (1080°F) for 4 hours and air cool.
