PROPRIETARY LESCALLOY 4340 VAC-ARC Heat Treatments
- Normalize: 871-927°C (1600-1700°F), air cool;
Austenitize: 802-857°C (1475-1575°F), oil quench;
Temper: 204-649°C (400-1200°F), depending on desired strength. Temper between 204-260°C (400-500°F) to obtain tensile strengths above 1793 MPa.
