PROPRIETARY Hiperco 27 Heat Treatments

  • All stamped laminations or machined parts must be annealed after fabrication to develop acceptable magnetic properties. Anneal parts at 760-900°C (1400-1652°F) for 2-4 hours in dry hydrogen or vacuum and cool at 80-300°C/h (144-540°F)/h until 300°C (572°F).
    All parts must be cleaned prior to heat treating.
    Can be forged from a furnace temperature of 1177°C (2150°F). Time at temperature should be approximately 1 h/25.4 mm of thickness. Forging can be conducted down to a temperature of 927°C (1700°F). After forging, items can be air cooled.
