KS STS 440A Heat Treatments
- Annealing: 800-920°C, slow cooling; Quenching: 1010-1070°C, oil quenching; Tempering: 100-180°C, air cooling.
- Annealing at approximately 750°C, air cooling or 800-900°C, slow cooling.
Quenching at 1010-1070°C, rapid cooling.
Tempering at 150-400°C, air cooling.
Annealing may be replaced by quenching and tempering to obtain the specified mechanical properties.
