ISO 41CrNiMo2 Heat Treatments
- Hardening: 830-860°C (Temperatures at the lower end of the range are generally used for water, and those at the upper end for oil quenching; Time for austenitizing as a guide: at least 30 min.);
Quenching agent: Oil or water (When choosing the quenching agent, the influence of other parameters, such as shape, dimensions and quenching temperature, on properties and crack susceptibility, should be taken into account. Other quenching agents such as synthetic quenchants may also be used.);
Tempering: 540-660°C (Time for tempering as a guide: at least 60 min.);
End quench test austenitizing: 845 ± 5°C (Time for austenitizing as a guide: 30-35 min.). The given conditions are for guidance. However, the temperatures specified for the end quench test are mandatory.. - Oil quenching: 830-860°C (1/2 hour), Tempering: 540-660°C (1 hour).
