STAS 42 MoCr 11 Heat Treatments
- Double hardening (1): in the range 820-850°C, quenching in water; Double hardening (2): in the range 820-860°C, quenching in oil; Tempering in the range 540-680°C, cooling in water or oil.
Temperature of austenitization 850°C.
Hot plastic deformation:
- Forging and hot rolling: 1180-800°C
- Die forging: 1150-900°C.
Annealing in the range 700-730°C, furnace cooling; Normalization in the range 850-880°C, air cooling; Hardening (I) in the range 820-860°C, water or oil cooling; Tempering in the range 540-680°C, water or oil cooling.
