STAS 40 CrNi 12 S Heat Treatments
- Hardening in the range 805-835°C, quenching in water or oil; Tempering in the range 450-550°C, cooling in oil or air.
Hot plastic deformation:
- Forging and hot rolling: 1180-800°C
- Die forging: 1150-900°C.
Annealing in the range 680-720°C, furnace cooling; Normalization in the range 840-870°C, air cooling; Hardening (I) in the range 805-835°C, water or oil cooling; Tempering in the range 450-550°C, water or oil cooling.
