STAS 40 Cr 10 XS Heat Treatments
- Hardening in the range 845-875°C, quenching in oil; Tempering in the range 450-550°C, cooling in water or oil.
Temperature of austenitization 850°C.
Hot plastic deformation:
- Forging and hot rolling: 1180-800°C
- Die forging: 1150-900°C.
Annealing in the range 680-720°C, furnace cooling; Normalization in the range 845-875°C, air cooling; Hardening (I) in the range 845-875°C, water cooling; Tempering in the range 450-550°C, water or oil cooling.
