STAS 36 MnCrSi 13 XS Heat Treatments
- Isothermal quenching at a temperature of 880°C ±15°C in a mixture of potassium and sodium nitrate having temperature 280 - 310°C, air cooling.
Hot plastic deformation:
- Forging and hot rolling: 1180-800°C
- Die forging: 1150-900°C.
Annealing in the range 670-720°C, furnace cooling; Normalization in the range 880-910°C, air cooling; Hardening (I) in the range 880°C ±15°C, isothermal quenching; Tempering in the range 280-310°C, air cooling.
