STAS 20 MoNi 35 XS Heat Treatments
- Hardening in the range 830-850°C, quenching in oil, re-heating in the range 760-790°C; Tempering in the range 170-200°C, cooling in air.
Temperature of austenitization 845°C.
Hot plastic deformation:
- Forging and hot rolling: 1180-800°C
- Die forging: 1150-900°C.
Annealing in the range 650-700°C, furnace cooling; Normalization in the range 860-890°C, air cooling; Cementation in the range 860-890°C, oil cooling or batch furnace cooling; Hardening (I) in the range 830-850°C, oil cooling; Intermediate cooling in the range 650-700°C, furnace cooling; Hardening (II) in the range 760-790°C, oil cooling; Tempering in the range 170-200°C, air cooling.
