STAS 17 MoCrNi 14 XS Heat Treatments
- Hardening in the range 830-860°C, quenching in oil, re-heating in the range 780-810°C, quenching in oil; Tempering in the range 150-200°C, air cooling.
Temperature of austenitization 880°C.
Hot plastic deformation:
- Forging and hot rolling: 1180-800°C
- Die forging: 1150-900°C.
Annealing in the range 650-700°C, furnace cooling; Normalization in the range 860-900°C, air cooling; Cementation in the range 880-900°C, oil cooling or batch furnace cooling; Hardening (I) in the range 830-860°C, oil cooling; Intermediate cooling in the range 650-880°C, furnace cooling; Hardening (II) in the range 780-810°C, oil cooling; Tempering in the range 150-200°C, air cooling.
