ASTM A 565 S42300 Heat Treatments
- HT - Heat treated (for high-temperature service): 1020 to 1050°C (1875 to 1925°F), quench in air or oil and temper at min. 620°C (1150°F) for 2 h min.
Air or oil quenching depends on section size; heavier sections, approximately 76.2 mm or greater, should be oil quenched. Suitable synthetic quenchants may be substituted for oil.
