ASTM A 571 Type D-2M Class 3 Heat Treatments
- Heat treatment shall consist of annealing. The procedure for this type of treatment shall consist of heating the casting to a minimum of 870°C (1600°F) but not greater than 980°C (1800°F), holding at that temperature not less than 1 h ⁄25 mm of section, and furnace cooling.
