ASTM A 858 Heat Treatments

  • Furnished in the heat-treated condition. Fittings formed above the transformation temperature or upon which welding is performed, shall be cooled to below the lower criteria temperature prior to heat treatment. Fittings shall subsequently be heat treated by normalizing, quenching, and tempering or stress-relieving.
