ASTM A 182 F 122 Heat Treatments
- After hot working, forgings shall be cooled to a temperature below 538°C (1000°F) prior to heat treating.
Normalizing and tempering: austenitizing/solution heat treatment temperature 1038 - 1079°C (1900 - 1975°F), air cooling. Tempering temperature 732 - 799°C (1350 - 1470°F).
