ASTM A 470 Class 1 Heat Treatments
- Forgings shall be double normalized and tempered. The final tempering temperature shall be not less than 580°C. After heat treatment, rough machining and boring, forgings shall be stress relieved at a temperature not more than 55°C below the final tempering temperature, but not less than 550°C.
