AISI 4620 Heat Treatments
- Heated to a suitable temperature at or above the upper critical temperature, but not exceeding 925°C (1700°F), held a sufficient length of time to attain essentially uniform temperature throughout, and cooled as appropriate for the condition specified.
- Pretreatments normalize and cycle anneal; Carburized: 900-925°C, cool slowly; Reheat: 815-845°C, quenched in oil; Tempered: 120-175°C.
