SAE Ni Span C902 Heat Treatments
- Solution heat treatment: heating to 954°C ± 14°C (1750°F ± 25°F) in a suitable atmosphere, holding at heat for a time commensurate with section thickness, and cooling as required.
After precipitation heat treatment: heating to 704°C ± 8°C (1300°F ± 15°F), holding at heat for 3 hours ± 0.10 hours, and cooling in air. - Solution heat treatment: Heat to 954°C ± 14°C (1750°F ± 25°F), hold at heat for a time commensurate with section thickness but not more than 30 minutes, and cooling as required.
Precipitation heat treatment: Heat to 704°C ± 8°C (1300°F ± 15°F), hold at heat for 180 minutes ± 5 minutes, and cooling at a rate equivalent to cooling in air.
