SAE 6408 Heat Treatments
- Austenitized by heating to 1010°C ± 14°C (1850°F ± 25°F), holding at heat for 15-45 minutes, cooling in air to room temperature and double tempered by heating to a temperature not lower than 593°C (1100°F), holding at heat for 2-3 hours and cooling in air.
